I am Manuela Pacutho Mulondo, my friends call me, Baby Mama………because that’s exactly who I am; every day of my life, I take care of children aged newborn to 6 years old. I haven’t been doing this all my life though, this is a journey I started 8 years ago when I founded Uganda’s first workplace childcare centre;

The Cradle

The Cradle is a lactation, childcare and education service company designed to partner with organizations to support mothers by providing safe and easily accessible spaces for education, childcare and lactation at the workplace. We offer a nurturing, caring and safe environment for the provision of quality child care and education for infants and toddlers between zero and 6 years

During these 8 years, I made various mistakes and some wins, my greatest win is that I finally figured out how to start a childcare business from scratch, grow my enrollment to the profitable business that I loved operating every single day.

However, in February 2021 , the walls came crumbling down on me, when the Min. of Education announced the indefinite closure of pre-schools. This was exactly one year after the 1 st lock down. While other sectors including the education sector were being opened, the pre-primary sector was being closed undefinably.

Our financial model had allowed us to have business savings that paid our rent and salaries for one year but without a definite end to the closure, I had to make the difficult decision to pack up the business, close it and start again when the economy opened for our sector.

While people called to feel sorry that my business had closed, I was elated! My hands itched to start my business again the right way. For the past 3 years, I had coached students on this same course about the strategies that I would use if I had to start again. I made so many mistakes that it took me so long to actually start. So when our economy opened again in Dec 2021 , I used the same exact strategies in this course starting in Jan 2022 and 5 months later, I have two branches, each making a savings and profit in the last 2 months!

How in heaven did this happen? The strategies in the childcare business course!

And now, I would like to help childcare providers like you because I cannot meet the needs of every child in this country and I need your help in reaching the foundations of our country. On a lighter note though, word has it that “It’s lonely at the top” and so I would like us to have a party together at the top.

But before we begin;

  • Are you sure you want to do this?
  • Can you trust me to walk with you on this journey?
  • Are you willing to do the work in order to succeed?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, then you are the perfect person for this course
